It was ranked 5th in Fortune's 2015 “Change the World” list, a ranking of the top 50 businesses in the world that had a positive social impact through activities that are part of their business strategy and operations.

Solution

A SAP-integrated B2B marketplace based on an out-of-the-box ERP platform. The marketplace supports importing and exporting master data from/to SAP that PJSC Enel uses for daily business management;

The marketplace specializes on B2B sales of idle assets like raw materials, goods and other items left over from PJSC Enel business operations;

The marketplace features personal buyer accounts with access to the full inventory catalog uploaded from SAP.

PJSC Enel staff members control uploading data and setting prices for idle assets featured in the catalog. The catalog is updated on a regular basis. Online orders can be placed 24/7.

Notifications of customer requests and purchases are quickly channeled online to PJSC Enel employees, enabling fast and efficient client communication.

There are several ways in which users can make purchases at the marketplace:

  • Taking part in auctions: items are offered at a minimum acceptable starting price, but as bids increase PJSC Enel sells its assets to the highest bidder
  • Buying items from the catalog at a fixed price
  • Sending requests to PJSC Enel managers to negotiate discounts and place direct orders

Result

The project’s outcome is a fully-functional B2B marketplace with multiple ways of selling idle assets. The auction mode ensures the sale price is as high as possible. The catalog mode is for fixed price selling. The direct order mode enables buyers to negotiate more favorable terms. The platform improves client experience increasing user engagement and loyalty.
